If you know her e-mail and password, you should easily log in into her account and remove it.

I do not use facebook, but is there not a helpline/email contact to ask them to remove the account for you?

Hi, sorry to hear about your sister.

I know of this situation. A person I knew, sadly died in a car crash a few months ago and their profile is still up.

If you know her email address, try and enter it and click the 'Forgot Password' button and try, she might have those security questions, so being a sister you might know the answers. Make a new password and deactivate her profile. You can't remove Facebook accounts, you can only deactivate them, which in it's self is making the profile invisible, but you can reactivate it by logging in again.

Are you referring to her email address, when you said "log in"?

If that fails, try and investigate to find actual contact details for the Facebook, Inc, Mark Zuckerberg. You could get help via Google, Yahoo, or even contact a TV news channel and tell them your story and see if Facebook can create a customer telephone number to deal with sad situations when someone dies.

Hope this helps. Smile x

There's a form you need to fill in, and Facebook will remove it for you:

To lock the page and "memorialise" it: http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php...m=deceased
To remove the account: http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php...l_requests

From facebook's help centre:

Please report this information here, so we can memorialize this person’s account. Memorializing the account restricts profile access to confirmed friends only. Please note that in order to protect the privacy of the deceased user, we cannot provide login information for the account to anyone.

Removing the account:
Verified immediate family members may request the removal of a loved one’s account. This will completely remove the account from Facebook, so no one can view it. We will not restore the account or provide information on its content unless required by law. If you are requesting a removal and are not an immediate family member of the deceased, your request will not be processed. In this case, the account will be memorialized.

If you are an immediate family member and would like to request that we remove your loved one's account from the site, click here. You may also use this form if you have a special request regarding a deceased user's account.
