Why is my blackberry Facebook App forcing me to use the facebook mobile website?

My facebook app used to send me notifications (messages, comments on my status, others comments on status I had commented on or liked) in a way that I could see the message right away or see the comments right away, now I have to follow a link to go to the facebook mobile site. I have the app, I shouldn't have to use the site. How do I fix this?

Is there not a link at the bottom of the page that says something like 'standard version'? as opposed to 'mobile version'
