Facebook is designed for high school + college students; myspace is for anyone 13+ i believe. But Facebook can also be used to find old friends + such.

Plus, myspace is more about having your SPACE (as per name) facebook is, well, not about having your SPACE.

fb is probably more protected-- everyone's profile is put on private unless you add them as a friend and the request is accepted...

When it comes down to it, they're pretty much the same. They're both networking sites in which you can add friends, share pictures, leave comments, and tell about yourself.

The key differences are:

MySpace~ A user can use HTML codes to change the appearance of their page and basically put any pictures, color, fonts, and videos on it. There is all the bulletin feature which is used to post a message that all your friends can see.

Facebook~ You can't alter the design of the page very much. You also choose a network to be in, as it was originally more a networking site than a social one. Also, no music.

The privacy features differ in that Facebook defaults one's page to only be viewed by people in your network, however the settings can be changed to allow anyone to see it. MySpace's default is that your profile isn't private, all can be seen, but you can set it to private. Myspace originally didn't allow you to set individual contents private, but now does. Only friends can add comments on both.

MySpace profiles are often easy to phish, as people will leave links that make it look like you've been signed out, but when that person uses that page to sign in, it looks like the page didn't load, but in fact the person just sent their login information in. Which has a domino effect as the person with the login uses the page to send links to that persons friends and they click on them because they thought their friend sent it. Most people have caught on to this, but still it seems to happen.

Also, if a use wants to join a school network, they either have to provide a school email address or have other verified members of that network confirm that person went to that school. Myspace does not do this. Anyone can list any school and then be able to search for profiles that have also listed that school.

The difference between facebook and myspace is myspace is older then facebook. They both are social networking website having many similar features but the privacy option of facebook is better than myspace.
