help needed with twitter.?

can i reply to a person in twitter, whom i am following but hes not following me back?
will he get to know about it? how will he get my mssg when hes not following me back? as we reply by - @username
iam not talking about direct messages.
but i created 2 accnts and i replied to one by - @username and i loged in to check if i got the message but i didnt recieved any reply.

yes, he will recieve your @ replies even if you arent following each other

The '@' symbol is used to make sure that the answer reaches the person whom you are referring to.. So ...

He will still get it. In order to see your @ messages you have to click the @YourUserName in your right sidebar. If you click there you will see the one you sent to yourself.
