If I make my Y!A questions private can other people see?
Like I really want to make my questions private and even if I have contacts they won't answer so that's what I'm worried about. So like can other people see (meaning people who aren't in my contact) my questions as well?!

People can see your questions, but if they go to your profile they won't see any questions you previously asked or answered.

When you make things private, only your contacts can see them.
That's what I do |

All questions are available for searching on the web. Similarly, with the answers. The only you can do is hide the Q&A in your YA activity/profile so others can not see your Q&A when they are visiting your YA activity page.

First and most important step to keep your questions private...go to My Activities>Edit My Preferences>Privacy & Communications. Under "Sharing and network:" you will see "Share my Q&A with:". Select "My Contacts Only" and click Submit at the bottom of the page.
Be aware if you have any Contacts they will be able to see your Q&A, so if you are concerned about privacy I suggest you don't allow them. Go to My Activities>Edit My Preferences>Privacy & Communications under "Sharing and network" again and this time uncheck the box next to "Allow someone from Yahoo! Answers to be my fan". Submit. Then for more privacy you need to check your Pulse settings .Right now I can see your Q&A on your Pulse profile. From Answers go to My Activity>View Pulse>Settings>Manage updates. Make sure "Share my updates" is not checked. Save at the bottom of the page. You can also manage whether you want Twitter or Facebook linked to your Yahoo! account by going to Settings>Manage my linked accounts. |
