What does it mean when a guy says to you oh that's a shame as I never go to the west side?

I'm following a guy on twitter and I pointed out to him that I lived in San Monica & he lived in La and he said "Oh that's such a shame as I never go to the west side". I don't want to ask him as I don't want to appear ignorant.

He could think that you are either too good for him... or not good enough for him. Sounds like he is placing a label on you because of where you live. If he is doing that then he is just another ignorant fool.
