How to make video chat with girlfriend less awkward?

I have a long distance girlfriend, and we're gonna videochat for the first time. How can I not make it awkward?

ah, I have the perfect solution! I am with a guy who has to be away for 2-3 weeks at a time and I always get super awkward on video chat but I find if we have something to look at online at the same time, it makes it a lot easier. You could go on Facebook and use the Rounds video chat app (http://apps.facebook.com/chatrounds/conv...bannerid=0 ) because it has a bunch of random features but the best one is the "co-browsing" of Facebook -- that is, you can log-in to one of your Facebook pages and both click around and look at people and photos. So maybe it would be less awkward if you're both looking at something and talking about it - since you're long distance you can "introduce" her to people she hasn't gotten the chance to meet and show her pics from you're up to.
