Girl I like's birthday is coming up, help?

My crush and I have been talking a lot recently though I started properly talking to her a few days ago. She just said on twitter it'll be her birthday this time next week.. and I'm getting lots of mixed feelings.
I want to show that I care and maybe get her a gift or something, but I don't know what.. Do you think it'd be quite needy or sweet for me to get something for her? I know some of the interests she has. Do you think I should get her just a card or something more? I like her a lot and I was actually going to ask her when her birthday was soon but now I know.. So any help?

its fine to buy gifts, just not something expensive and extravagant that may draw too much attention to it.
