How to legally restrict someone to come close to you?

My girlfriend has a stocker crazy ex-boyfriend who is always sending text messages to her a me saying that he would make us break up or separate. The stocker is always looking forms to get info from her and me in facebook, msn, and sends emails to my girlfriend constantly. And to me he text me saying that she is cheating on me with him. So im looking for a legal for so the police wont allow him to come close to my girlfriend or me

Talk to the police and ask them how to file a restraining order in your area. BTW, it's spelled "Stalker" not "stocker"

Make copies of everything that he is sending or find some way to make a record of what's happening and call the police. Louisiana has a harassment charge that would fit and you could press charges. Stalking may work to. Just call the police and they can explain the laws where you are from and find the appropriate one.

There is an instrument which is issued by the court system called a " restraining order ". Whether your or your girl friend's complaint warrants the issuance of such an order may be debatable. If you do get it, there may be a message for someone to cease and desist.
