How to through a great High School party?
Okay so I decided since it was the summer before senior year I would throw a bonfire. This bonfire consisted of just inviting about 20 of my close friends from different schools just so we can all have fun and so everyone can meet other people. So I then invited one girl who openly discussed the date of the bonfire which made another girl curious and asked me what it was about. I told her and I politely invited her, and I told her she can bring a friend or a few if she wanted to, so she told me she would just bring her boyfriend. Tonight I heard from one of my friends that her brother was told about the bonfire from a friend who heard it on twitter. Her brother going to be a sophomore this year. So yeaa word spread like wildfire because these two girls posted "crazy party on this day, this place, this time, etc" and so now I dont know what to do. Im excited for the party, especially since its such a Project X moment, but its at a public beach, and I'm nervous about people bringing illegal substances. Also How can I entertain all of these people? Do I bring a bunch of food/drinks? Music? Im excited about the idea but im just nervous about the night portion of it. But pleaseee help! I dont want to cancel it when its tomorrow and I just found out about this whole situation. Thank you so much!(:

Well that's kind of balls huh? You planned a nice quietism bonfire and some people went all crazy and hijacked it on you. Very bad manners on their end. Really since you were only planning a party for about twenty or so people who you know, those are the only people who are your guests and therefore the only ones who you need to worry about. Think about it this way. You're getting married and you plan a dinner for a hundred people. You wouldn't have to provide for crashes would you?
Anyhow it does make sense that you want this to be a great party and it most likely will be. I'm willing to bet that the people who are just showing up won't be expecting you to have food and stuff for them (doubly rude if they crash and expect food lol). They probably bring stuff n their own so I wouldn't worry. As for bringing things that they aren't supposed to, if they get caught with it then they will be the ones who are in trouble because even though the party is your is, it's in a public place and therefore everyone is responsible fr him or herself. Hope it's fun!

That def sucks that it's gotten so out of hand, but the answer below is pretty right on when saying it isnt your responsiblity to provide for everyone. That being said, you do want you and your immediate friends to have a great time. When my friends and I do bonfires at the beach, I always bring some sticks and a few packages of hot dogs, for some reason nothing is better than roasting a hotdog on a stick over the fire! Toss in some marshmallows and basics to make smores and thats that! Load your ipod with fun summer beach songs and thats about it! Bring a cooler for yourself with a few bottles of water and whatever you like to drink. Dont forget a large blanket and a chair. Oh and a garbage bag, you don't want to trash the beach! Hope this helps some what and I hope you have a great time! Don't be afraid to tell your parents that you are doing this and about how the news spread..it might be nice to have a responsible adult on hand incase people do get out of hand!
