How to make your profile unsearchable?
Hey how can you make our profile completely unsearchable?
My boyfriend deleted all my facebook friends and said he'll leave me if I get it back so I was thinking of making a new profile but I need to know how to make it unsearchable, we also don't have the same friends so will I be safe?

Yes, you can put your FB page so it's not in the search files, it's under the privacy tab, so read the options. It's there.

Also, that's not going to be 100%. You have to make your thing's visible only to your friends. Not friends of friends, not everyone, not networks (even though those are gonna be gone soon), select that all of your stuff is only visible to friends.

But if somehow you get common friends, block his page. I have my sister blocked. We have family in common. I can't see anything she posts (she doesn't have me blocked) and she can't see mine. I know this works. It's funny to read a thread where her posts are missing but people are responding to.

You can always have your name different too, following the FB guidelines. I have a friend who is Shelly Likesto Dance. And she uses an avatar as a profile pic, but she has photos in the albums.

Watch who you tag pix of. If you do end up with mutual friends. Tags appear in other people's profiles and then your name is at the bottom, even if friends only is the privacy setting, tags change that.

The other issue is WHY would you want to be with such a control freak that "will leave you" if you have a facebook page? I'd find a new boyfriend because you are worth more than that. The next thing is he'll tell you to quit wearing black or red or low cut things because it's too sexy.

So in response of him deleting your friends - DELETE HIM.

Your boyfriend is too controlling Tongue and a jealous one at that. (future what would it be?) Tongue

anyway, just to answer your question:

after Creating a new account:

1 . Highlight Settings > Privacy settings > Search.

Change "Facebook Search Results" to "Friends Only" and Uncheck the "Public Search Results" box.

to increase security,

2. Highlight Settings > Privacy settings > Profile information

Change ALL the settings here to "Only friends" or do a "customization" and check "ONLY ME"
"Allow friends to post on my Wall" <-- this is ok, just place a check box on it.

3. Highlight Settings > Privacy settings > Contact information

again, change ALL settings to "Only Friends" or do a "Customization" (eg. Only Me)
*by the way, in this page, the "Add me as a friend" does not have a Only Friend option. by default, it is "everyone". Don't worry about this, since your photo and information won't show up on the "add me as a friend" but just a no photo, it's going to be hard for the person to know which or who exactly are you (e.g. "John Smith" may be from any country all over the world & so many people may have this name, if you know what I mean)

--additional security part-- (this is going too far, but if necessary, do it by all means Tongue )

Highlight Settings > Privacy settings > BLOCK LIST

ok, literally BLOCK a person or persons who you do not want to see you when they do a search on facebook network.

Just simply Enter the name here. (the one he is using in facebook). thus, your name won't appear on his search page (your profile name won't be included in his search results)

the catch: if he has another name or using another facebook profile, he cannot be block in the block list during a search (unless it is in the list).
The BLOCK list is basically pointing to a specific person's name on facebook.

Good Luck!
