Twitter is a social network that allows you to interact with any other user on the network. Millions of users rely on the service daily to send tweets to their followers, yet a number of problems and issues may arise when using Twitter. From unwanted messages to privacy concerns, Twitter is a public venue that cannot easily be monitored or regulated.

Privacy
Twitter allows you to set your profile to private so you can choose who follows you. This means only the people you approve can read your tweets. While you can set your profile to private, you should keep in mind that there is no way to control who is really behind the follower request. For example, you might not want an ex-boyfriend to follow you but there is no way you can prevent it because he could easily create a Twitter account under a false identity. You should always use caution when posting tweets. Never give out your location or any personal information.

Over Capacity
Millions of people use Twitter on the computer, cell phones and even Xbox. Occasionally, you may have problems tweeting because there are too many people on the network. This is when the Twitter whale appears with the message "Over Capacity." The Twitter whale can be annoying, especially when it appears for an hour or longer. There is no resolution to this problem, as Twitter says it is beyond their control. Nevertheless, it is a problem when you are trying to send or read a tweet and you cannot connect to the network.

Spam
Just like email, spam has made its way to Twitter. Spam will appear in a number of ways including spam followers and direct spam messages. There is no way to stop spam aside from flagging the user and reporting the individual to Twitter. You can do this by blocking the person. If you are sent @ reply spam, it will be published in your feed and it will stay there until the profile is deleted.
