I'm at college and my crush and her brother are in the same class and we all did group work together and now he wants to be friends with me on facebook.

I'm 8 years older than my crush so she will probably reject me if I tried to ask her out and then things will become really awkward. How do I say no friendship without hurting his feelings. Should I tell him the truth that I had a small crush for his sister.
