I need help responding to a comment left on facebook?

My girlfriends uncle wrote "I hope you got a dog" under her "in relationship" update on facebook. We recently got back together after a turmoil filled breakup. During it she cried endlessly to her family, which made me look pretty bad. I don't blame him for the witty comment, but I would love to hear respectfull and equally witty way to respond. The funniest suggestion was "Na, a dog would be more loyal than I'm gonna be." Curious to see if anyone could come up with anything better.

I would say: wella dog is only mams best friend. Im her best friend and her boyfriend. Hmm the aforementioned statement is quite thought out as well
