How many people have killed themselves over being bullied for their sexuality this year. Names?
I'm writing a paper about tolerance. I want to make my point. I want to make people think.
I want people to realize how what they say can impact someone.
I've chosen homosexuality as my main point because of my area and how homophobic people around me are.

So I want to list some names, dates, and ages.
I ask that you help me make my point and get people's attention in this way.

Thanks,

You can never know the exact number because not all incidents are recorded.

NONE!!
but some losers have taken their own lives, thats a fact.

as human beings we come up against a raft of challenges, one of which is that some people don't like us as persons. some weaklings kill themselves, others rise above the crap and become great.

it saddens me that some of these peoples greatest act, that which brings them fame, is to be quitters.

I've been very upset about the news of kids being bullied enough to make them kill themselves.

Here are a few that have had press coverage:

Tyler Clementi - Jumped off a bridge
Seth Walsh - Hanged himself
Zach Harrington - Suicide. I don't know the method but does that matter?
Asher Brow - Shot himself
Phoebe Prince - Suicide
Megan Meier - Suicide after cyberbullying
Eric Mohat - Shot himself. One of FOUR students at that same school in Mentor, OH. One of his bullies said, in class, "Why don't you go home and shoot yourself, no one will miss your" At which the teacher laughed along with the rest of the students.
Sladjana Vidovic - Hanged herself. Her tormenters went to her funeral home, looked in the casket, and laughed.
Jennifer Eyring - Overdosed on her mother's anti-depressant pills.
Justin Anburg - Suicide.
Billy Lucas - Suicide
Harrison Chase Brown - Suicide
Caleb Nolt - Suicide

There are more. These are the ones which showed up in a short search.

The comments on news stories about these deaths were more than heartbreaking:

"Hahahahshaha he's burning in hell"

"He deserved it"

"You know if he had GOD in his heart he would not have jumped. Matter of fact if he had GOD in his heart he would not have been gay"

"I wonder if he's enjoying his fifteen minutes of fame"

"The kid was weak, simple as that. You know this by asking yourself what you would have done if your were him. He couldn't handle the dog eat dog world. I bet they're tons of other people that get bullied but deal with it. Pathetic, just pathetic."

"It's sad this kid took his life but I think promoting homosexuals is shoving it down peoples throats"

"If he was taking it in the ass and liking it, he probably had severe mental health issues to start with, this may have been the catalyst, but it was not the reason, why is Norman pandering to these emotionally disturbed individuals who insist on making their private sex lives public and then requiring the rest of us to endorse it so they can feel better about themselves.

If your Gay? good for you enjoy it, but don't make me help you feel better about yourself because you can't stand the way you are."

"made myself laugh...
bwahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaa"

"ur all equally worthy of death" (sic)

"Suicide is a sin. Sin leads to hell"

After Phoebe Prince's death someone wrote "accomplished" on her Facebook page.

"Are we supposed to feel sorry for these worthless piece of crap?"

And believe me, these comments are but the tip of the iceberg. Fortunately in the various newspaper accounts and their comments a large majority of writers were at least sympathetic.
