How much should I charge for my photography?
I am a high school Senior and I take pictures for fun! I will probably minor in photography .. One of my facebook friends came across my album of "my photography" that I took of my little sister. She loved it and asked if I would do her winter family pictures. She also asked how much I would charge. I don't want to over charge her or if I should even charge at all!!!
ANY ADVICE?????

Do you have a sampling of your photos?

I would suggest only charging a small fee to cover the cost of transportation and supplies.

I would say none because I tried to look at first two links and they are not available.

Upload them to flickr.com and we'll look again. Forget FB--too difficult to go there especially those without an account.

If you want to do photography for money or even to just show off your work, get a My Space. Facebook only allows those with an account to see profiles. Anyone not your friend, can't see your stuff.
If your friend wants to pay and loves your work and you feel comfortable doing it for money, then you can charge about $40 and give them 1- 8X10 in a simple black frame.
If you're unsure of your photography skills, do the photo shoot for free giving them an 8X10. If they love it, you can charge for copies. You would charge at least double your cost to make and frame the print.
Probably a good idea to do the photo outdoors with the sun as your main light and your flash a fill light to get the shadows.
