How do I stop getting Facebook notifications on my Gmail account?

I have no clue how, but since forever, I've been receiving an email for EVERY SINGLE Facebook notification I get. As you can image that leads to loads of emails, loads of deleting emails and loads of dead bodies. (joke) If someone can pleeeease remove me from my misery I shall marvel in your greatness forever.

Delete your Facebook account. From what I've seen, it causes lots of fights, breakups, long friends torn apart and the like. I vowed never to get one, simply because it causes more problems than it can solve.

Account --> account settings --> notifications
Than select group of notifications (facebook, photos..) and uncheck every square that is checked!
