Why girl like to add stranger in facebook?

Recently I just had girlfriend and when I saw her facebook there's 750 friends and gaining more and more.
I wonder why girl like to add unknown people as friends in facebook?
I need girls opinion.

I only had 150 friends and I know them all. And rejected stranger who want to be friend with me.

Usually both.

Or they add her.

All the apps use "clan" size as a way to gain levels and things.
BUT... you can't add strangers to your clan, they have to be on your buddy list.

girls are sometimes like that... i know a girl who has over 800 hundred friends...and shes 14. but guys can be like that too, i get guys adding me all the time and ill swear i dont know em, so i message em asking if i do....and they say, no i only added you cuz i thought you were hot. its like...well thats great....
some of the guy obsessed girls might do that too (creepers...)
