how to send a message on twitter.com?

i checked a message from a person, and hit the reply button at the far right of the message, but ive noticed he's spoken to everybody else who sent a question, and neglected mine. i tried the direct message tab instead, and even though i follow him his name was not on the list to send to, in fact, no names were. What should i do?

You have to click his/her name first, once you're in his/her profile, in the right side of the page you will see there as "message" link under the Action word followed by the name of the person.. pls click that link and you can now write him/her a message...

make sure you are sign in with your account...

Step 1
Log into Twitter via the Twitter homepage.
Step 2
Browse to the Twitter direct messages inbox, or click the "Direct Messages" link in the right sidebar.

Select the intended recipient's username from the drop-down menu.
Step 4
Compose your private message. Verify the message is correct, because you can't change it once you send it. Click "update" to send the direct message.
