Is twitter and Facebook nosy engines used by the government to track civilians?
I do not use these sites for I believe my privacy is always vulnerable. What happens if my friends turn to enemies, my crazy ex stalks, my employer folds and I must reveal my status as unemployment?

Probably. Everybody tracks us nowadays. So much for our free nation and the constitution and privacy rights.

These sites are certainly doing a good job of getting people to reveal lots of personal information voluntarily. I suppose the government could use them...it could probably use yahoo answers for the same thing too.

Yes. Don't put anything online you don't want EVERYONE knowing. You have the right idea. Don't ever use your real name if you can help it.
