Mobile Twitter follower request problem?

Today I went on mobile.twitter.com on Safari on my iPhone to see if I had any new follower requests. I had 3 requests and on 1 request i tried clicking on the username (not approve or deny) and the request just disappeared but I was still on the follower requests page, so I automatically thought that it was approved.

I did the same for the other 2 requests out of curiosity and the same thing happened. So, thinking the requests were approved i check my list of followers and it turns out they were not following me. I believe they were either declined or they are hidden somehow. Even on a pc my requests are gone.

Sorry for the length of this but if anyone could help me in my situation or can relate it would greatly be appreciated.
