Is it okay for pregnant people to be around people going through brachytherapy?
I already asked a question like this, but with chemo. I found out later it was brachy instead of chemo. Oops! So is it okay for my pregnant sister to be around her boyfriends father? Please answer soon! Important!

No, not during brachytherapy. Tell her to call/email/facebook etc him.
NO exposure to any indwelling radiation AT ALL. |

It depends on what kind of brachytherapy he is receiving and where in his therapy he is. His radiation oncologist goes over these precautions with him before treatment begins. The answer is definitely no if he just started treatment. If not, and he doesn’t know, he needs to ask his doctor.
