Hi, I'm a fairly new Etsy seller. Here are some tips that I found incredibly useful:

1. Post more items. A lot of times I see new sellers say they don't want to add more items until they start getting sales, but without variety, people are not going to want to look. It's like going into a retail store. Would you only want to see two items to choose from?

2. Work on your photographs. I've worked on my photos over and over trying to find nice lighting and good angles. Your customers can't physically touch your items so you have to make your photos very appealing. The photo you have for your item is a bit dark and has an orange tint, which doesn't show the true colors of the earrings. Try to take pictures next to a window/outside or somewhere with natural lighting.

3. Fill out your shop policies and profile. Filling out your profile is a great way to seem more personable. Also, you might send customers away when you don't have your shop policies filled out. When will they expect the item to be shipped? What method will you use to ship? What's your return policy? It's good to set the rules out for you and your customer so in case something happens later on, they can refer to your shop policies.

4. Promote! I don't do as much promoting now as I used to, but I feel that promoting really helped kick start my shop. Make some business cards and send it out to all of your friends/relatives. Post in the etsy forums. Start a twitter, facebook fanpage, myspace, flickr, or blog.

5. Be patient. If you do all of the above, then don't get discouraged. I waited a month before my first sale. You'll get there.

Good luck with your shop!
