it's to show your support. and just a goofy way to get people to perhaps research breast cancer if they are going to be putting such personal info on facebook for it.

I answered.. and its just to help to get others to remember to check their breast.. your suppose to do it each month.. or each week.. not just once a year..

Simply mentioning the statement: "cancer awareness" helps you remember all you have learned about cancer and hopefully we will be reminded to do the tests as well.

Here is how it might have helped me:
My boyfriend and I were laughing and talking about the colors on Facebook a few hours ago until we remembered two of my relatives that have had breast cancer. Eventually one subject lead to another and we ended up making a plan for me to examin by breasts regularly from now on (I've done it once a year ... which is not good) and decided how he could remind me so I would not forget.
