I do not know what that is. here in Ny yes the child support can and will. it is based on income.
I dont know your situation.. IMO This shouldnt be an issue and both parents should eb willing to make the best life for the kids THEY BOTH brought into this world. It doesnt mtter if you dont get along with the other, nor want to be that childs parent. fact is the child is here and had no choice in choosing their parent. set up a college fund for them.. one noone but the child can touch .

Depends. Get a raise since you've seen the Judge? That's about the only way I've seen it happen UNLESS your state raised it due to COLA. Oops,Cost of living adjustment.

If you're still making the same and there's been no COLA then I'd be on the phone to get it straightened out.

And to the fools who said "Do what's right for your kid regardless, yada yada yada." I can see you've never paid child support. Is taking over HALF of someones paycheck every week fair to them? How are they supposed to live a normal life on 40% of what they make?

Not if it is already court ordered.

Why are there arrears? If there is a legitimate reason, such as unemployment, the obligor can still file for a reduction in them. Most Child Support obligors do not know there is free help from the state, by federal law, to obtain a modification. At the minimum, a motion should be filed to have any interest penalties set aside, which can double or triple the amount owed. Of the total media “reported” amount of child support owed, 83% if interest penalties and not unpaid child support. These links will teach what needs to be known about child support.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.
