How to stop receiving notifications of facebook via mobile?

Ok, so your probably all thinking im meaning text messages, but i mean on the htc wildfire you get a notification bar at the top if anyone has one you'll know what im on about. Facebook keep giving me notifications and they appear on the notification bar and i was wondering if anyone knows how to stop that? =)

Log into Facebook on a computer and look under "Account" and there should be a settings option. Click on that and then the Facebook Mobile tab to edit your settings.
