Restrict access to my facebook to someone that is on my friend list?

Is it possible to restrict access to my profile to someone that is on my friends list? I want to make it so my father cannot see my status but he gets pissed when i dont have him on my friend list. What im trying to do is restrict the capabilities of a single friend without removing them from my facebook. Anyone have any luck with this?

u can either remove them from ur friend list but in this case u dont want to do tht well u just go to their profile and scroll down and on the left of ur screen u should find 4 options and click on report/block this person and then click on block "ur friends name"
dont scroll all the way down the page just start scrolling down and looking at the left
