What am i supposed to do to ask this girl out on facebook that goes to my school?

theres this girl that ive been talking to on facebook alot. im not sure if im friends with her but i think i am. she gave me her phone number one day and told me to i think call or text her so i think she could like me from this. so should i go ask her out or not because i dont know if she has a boyfriend.
theres one more issue: shes a grade above me.

Talk to her in person, with a real human voice. You can't get a girl to like from a bunch of text. Facebook is for having fun, not "getting to know" someone. I'd say to give her a call. Talk to her a few times. Really get to know each other, then ask her out. And if she's a grade above that shouldn't matter. I dated lots of girls who were a grade older than me in high school and my wife is 3 years older than me.

Maybe you could text her and ask her if she's busy, if it would be a good time to call her. If she says yes then call.

I would just ask her what she meant because it does not make sense to me either. There is not a lose here.

When she says call or text her, she means it. Start calling/texting her and talking to her; you can even ask her whether or not she has a boyfriend, etc.

Next time you hang out with her, ask her out only if things seem to be going well. It's better to ask her out in person than through Facebook or text.

And just because she's one grade above you doesn't matter. One year doesn't really make a difference. :]
