how far can a famous persons private life be intruded?
Just bored, doing some reading online about famous people having no privacy, how far can it be pushed before what the paparazzi do is just illegal? What's the worst secret or aspect you've read/heard about being uncovered of a famous person? And how do they use things like the internet/facebook etc anonymously cause i imagine hacking and things must be a real danger

Basically, anything that someone can get in trouble for normally (hacking, stealing, assaulting), so can the paparazzi, they are just people, annoying people, annoying people with cameras.

It all depends on if they want to be intruded. If they have Facebook/twitter accounts then obviously the press are going to hack because that person is asking for it.
The Charlotte Church case was awful where they hacked her phone, and other members of her family's phone without any permission should have been illegal.
But then you can get the cases where the press will offer. Money for titbits of info.

Celebrities like being in the limelight - it's what makes them money. That's why Simon Cowell came out with the whole affair rumour- because he knows people will pay good money for the story.

But they're not all bad - take Johnny Depp as a perfect role model example.
You hardly ever hear anything of him unless there is a movie promo - he isn't on twitter or Facebook because he doesn't need or crave the publics attention, he's just a normal ordinary guy and the public in return just simply love him for that. He keeps his kids out of sight too instead of shoving them in our faces like Madonna (no offence to fans or anything.)
So it really all depends on the person and what they allow to be released.

Great question, not sure if ni have the answers you are looking for, but i'll tell you what i think.

When an individual becomes known to the public, they are basically giving up all rights of privacy.
The more well known they become and the more money they make of the public via media gives the red light to intrusion, wither they like it or not.

As much money as they have, the media is all about FREE press, so they can lie about you in mags/papers and You can't do anything about it !(Within certain legal registrations)

The press do hack "celebs" private info for stories, that has been brought to the fore here in the UK. (In Court for the last few months)

What i say is, if you are "famous" and don't like the press Intrusion, don't do a job in the public eye!
If you can't take the pressure then get out, BUT give back all the money you have made from the media and fans. Something i'm sure they don't want to do!
