Your goal should be a healthy baby...one or two.

I know, I am the first of four triplets.

You need to have a conversation with a fertility clinic so they can explain the processes that you can follow to posibly have twins. They will give you pertinent information and discuss what you need to know.

Yes its true that she needs to have in her gene to have twins atleast distantly. But the catch is, she needs to have that gene and not you. But practicality sounds otherwise with science, sometimes even if the guy has twins in distant relations, the couple might end up having twins.
There are many ways of getting twins, the natural way would be having twin gene as said before, another is if the women is proved to be pregnant and known of some deficiency during further tests, the additional medications provided to boost the lack of vitamins, proteins and iron might burst the embryo into twins but this theory is not quite common. And one other way is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Couples get multiple pregnancies on IVF. If you go to government clinics, they ensure you dont have multiple pregnancies as the risk of endangering the life of the mother and the womb is high. But other clinics do make you get twins if you want.
However, understand this. Human body is made to carry one healthy child. More than one is always as endangered task. News spreads that the mother delivers even 8-15 children in one birth but at what cost?
Everyone would love to carry twins so they dont need to think of another child for the time being or get done with the family in one delivery but consideration is to be given to the women's health. Would you look to see your wife go through hard pregnancy because she wanted twins. Or are you forgetting the financial front? May be bringing up twins as small little ones is easy but how about it when they start schooling? Are you financially planned to provide for both the children at the same time?
This being said, i would suggest first consult a gynecologist to know both of your health is ready for the trip. If she can conceive naturally, then nothing like it. Else procedures like IVF costs like $15,000.
So do some research before you decide.

1) twins must run in the mother's family
2) or fertility drugs and you will not be a candidate for that unless proven infertile.

You get what you get...sorry.

agree with everyone else just be thankful for what you get....alot of people can't even get pregnant at all!

Dont be selfish now Smile

You and your wife need to hurry up and have a baby though because you are both (no offence) getting a bit old. Google it, it is harder for women and men over 30 to have children. And your 37.
