Keyboard clicks and notifications not working on iphone 4?

I bought an iphone 4 abot a week and a half ago. yesterday the keyboard clicks and notifications for facebook and text messaging stopping working. i tried syncing the phone with my computer, installing new software, and resetting all settings on the phone and nothing helped.

is this a common problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

Have you checked if your phone is on silent with that switch on the side of the phone. Also check if the volume is turned up.
