How do I get his number without being a rebound?

So I moved to Arizona about 2 months ago, a week after I got here I went to a local Blockbuster to set up an account and met this employee. I see him multiple times a week, we're friends on Facebook but we've never actually hung out. I KNOW he's interested because there has always been some subtle flirting between us, but according to Facebook, he had a girlfriend of 9 months up until last night. How do I avoid being a rebound, but get his number at the same time?

you cant. theres no way you can just take over. if you get yourself into that position his feelings are not towards you. he'll just be using you. if u do do it. remember what im sayin now. it wont work out. rebounds dont last. there just rebounds.
