If couple are in court for child custody case, does this means that this case will lead to child support itself?

Child support is only mandatory if the primary residential parent is on Welfare. Most custodial fathers do not ask for, or even if motioned for, get child support. In Fact, when the economy was better, and more men were working, a custodial father would often still be required to pay.

However, in this economy, with so many fathers out of work, and working mothers determining that support a stay at home dad is demeaning to them and their children, they will file for custody, but cannot be awarded child support due to his lack of income and employment prospects.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.
