An educated quick question about organization of Facebook "friends"?

I'm starting to reduce the amount of time I spend on Facebook because I realized it's a waste of time.

But because I suffer from depression I need to be more social etc and on my list I have aquaintances that have nothing in common with me and are mainstream and fall into peer pressure.

Question is, is it better to keep and keep adding aquaintances to give the illusion of being social, or delete them and have a 'quiter' Facebook with close friends?

it really depends what you want. i personally add them, not to appear social ( i couldnt give 2 shits if people think im social or not) but because i like to design websites and share cool sites and i like to be able to get the word out easily
