I was thinking about signing up for Facebook, but how do I protect my computer.

Your computer should be safe will browsing Facebook. Don't accept friend request from people you do not know, do not download anything while browsing the website and having a virus protector also just to make sure nothing affects your computer also would be good.

Facebook is safe to use already. You won't get to download any files to your computer from it. However, with personal details, it is wise to keep your computer safe from spyware such as key loggers you may get from somewhere else by keeping your anti-virus/spyware up to date, enable your firewall, etc.

Also, limit the amount of personal information you post on it and don't accept requests from randoms.
