How do I become close again with my ex?

Me and my ex used to be really close before we started dating then when we broke up we just stopped talking for two years, then he was in my class and we started talking more and it reminded me of old times. He's in my class again this year and on one of those like my status things on Facebook he said to stop being such a stranger and talk to him more. So how do I become close to him. And how do I approach him. I don't want to come off that I like him.
