How does this work on facebook?
How does mutual friends work. My brothers and sisters have had facebook for about a year and they are mutual friends. I am new to it and I basically want to know how do I get them as mutual friends? Please xplain/give me an example. I just find it coincidental that my siblings are mutual friends but I am not with them?

You'll need to log into your Facebook account.

Then search for them. Along the top of the Facebook site, hover over "Friends" and then choose "Find Friends" from the menu that pops up.

Go to the bottom right of the page that comes up and you'll see "Search for People". The best way would be for you to type in one of their email addresses in there. You could also try their name (but if it is common, you may find too many results). If you put in the email account they have put into Facebook, then they'll come up.

Then find the link beside their entry that says something like "Add as a friend" I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

They'll need to approve you, then you'll be friends. Once you become one of your siblings friends, you can look in their Friend list and see the other siblings and add them all from there instead of typing everyone's email addresses (or names) in by hand.

Once you're friends, you'll be able to see things that the public doesn't see about your siblings. Like photo albums, or status updates. Stories about your friends also appear in that main feed/list on your Facebook home page. So stuff from your siblings will appear there, too... like when they post a new photo album, or take a Facebook quiz.

You can read all about Facebook friends by clicking the help link at the bottom of just about any Facebook page.

ok. so it is hard to explain but here is how you become one:
you dont see that you are mutual friends with them.
If you are friends with them, for example and you went to see their profile, it would say that your brother is a mutual friend if you are friends with your brother.
The reason it would say that is because you are friends with your brother and the person you are looking at is friends with your brother.
So, you cant choose a mutual friend or not.
I hope you understand what i am saying!
have a good day Big Grin

Mutual Friends are those friends which are common between two friends. Here is an example like i am your friend and we have some common friends. So when you open my profile, you can see the mutual friends on my profile. It won't be visible on your profile if you see your self. Yeah but if i see your profile so i can see them as mutual.
