ban the police
hey guys...i happened to go by this song...im sure most of you have heard...nd if u havent then plz to listen 2 it once... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZzOAFYllWI police...are they here to protect us??are we safe???y do we hesitate to approach the police in india?? would like to know your views... u guys nt getting d question...nd its nt a dumb question,u get that???it mite be dumb to you cause u have never really faced any problems from the police....you will understand it better when injustice is enforced on you...give sensible answers...nd plz do listen 2 d video before commenting...dont think im a dumbass sitting here,with nothing important to do... i think in america there is alot of corruption with police, its just not somethign we hear about daily and theya re better than many other places so we cant complain. In india the situation is horrible, if you ask me we should be trying to get those ppl who have no protection or laws safe, NOT in the war we are in sending more troops to get killed for nothing. these injustices are what we should be fighting for.

Ok, I'll give you my support toward banning the police if I am given the right department's have to buy high end military surplus firearms and hardware. If they arent going to be there to enforce the law, i am going to get an automatic weapon to defend myself.

To answer a silly question in kind:
Yeah - they were a pretty poor band anyway. Now to the serious answer: Police, in some ways, are necessary for the proper functioning of society and, hopefully, the protection of person and property against unwarranted misuse or abuse, i.e. crime. They have their place. What has unfortunately happened is that police, in the name of 'law and order' have been granted far too much leeway in how they handle their job, and the result is far too many instances where they have over-reacted or wrongfully done someone down. They do not need to be banned - they need to be brought under proper control, as do the courts, and need to be refocussed on working against crime, rather than being expended on social control measures dreamed up by their political masters. The fact that they are not currently focussed on working against crime is shown clerly by current and past statistics on crime reporting and solution - the percentages of resolved crime are very low, in the single figures, yet these same police have every opportunity and all the time in the world to roust anyone they choose at any time. This is not policing. |
