Why does my computer periodically freeze into a solid color?
When using my new computer for just minor tasks like surfing on Facebook or any other website, doing simple tasks such as word processing, the computer will completely freeze up and the entire screen will be a solid color. It will not recover from this without a reboot. There's no noise or anything that comes up and the hardware appears to keep running as though nothing has occurred... Please help!!

How old or what model is your computer?
I think it is your graphics card going bad.

I have to agree with Wizz sounds like the GFX card to me, it’s over heating (check fan on the card) or the pots on the card are blown. It could be is the mother board but either way it sounds like hardware to me.
