Why have I stopped receiving facebook notifications?

After I 'like' a status i receive notifications up to a point. Is there a limit to the number of notifications I can receive from 'liking' a status? and how can i change that limit?

is it the same people that you don't recieve a status update for? you can change your privacy settings to not notify Friends of Friends when you do stuff. if they have done such to their profile, that's why you don't get notifications.

otherwise, you can edit your application settings.
go to Settings at the top, and mouse over it.
click Application Settings.
edit as you see fit.
