How do i cancel a group request on facebook?

I requested to join a group on facebook, and it was only a while later that i found out it was closed -_-
How do i remove my membership confirmation? i can't find it on the help page on facebook, any idea where i can remove the request?

you have to send a letter and not a email the head office and ask there help
