Why does my boyfriend delete his Facebook messages?

My boyfriend randomly has days where he deletes his Facebook messages, but it's not all of them.. Just some? I ask him why he does that and he says; ''It's not bad''. But, if it wasn't bad I don't see why he'd have to hide and delete it from me?
