How offensive is my facebook status?
Im 19 my sister is 21. She scolded me and said I need to stop cursing cause jobs will look at my Facebook and not hire me, but my Facebook is private...
Well anyway I said
"I must be lucky cause only cute n/ggas hmu"

People have posted worse things right?

Yeah, I'm sure people have said worse things. In fact I'm positive. But, you are 19, and might be job searching. It's true that your boss could look at your profile regardless if it's private if you're applying for a job. So, just watch what you say. Anyway, whether your looking for a job or not...you still shouldn't be immature and stay stuff like that. Tongue just sayin.

It's that in this market - employers can afford to be extremely picky because there are hundreds of applicants for every open position.

They don't really have to be reasonable in their motives for hiring vs. rejecting.

If you're applying for an entertainment position, might not be a big deal. If you're applying for anything more conservative, they could call your sense of judgement into question. Their thinking could be: Is this the person that might cross the line at say an office party?
