how do i stop getting status updates from certain people on facebook?

i don't wanna turn off facebook notifications altogether, i just don't want updates from certain people anymore.
i meant on my phone, oops.

Hover over the status update and to the right an X will appear click on hide posts

Unfriend them. Its the only way. If you don't care about them enough to listen to their rambles than you don't need to be friends with them

Go to that person's Facebook profile. Towards the top right of the page, you should see a grey button that says "subscribed" or something like that. Hold your mouse over that button, and a list will pop up with subscription options. The very bottom option is "unsubscribe".

Hope that works. That's how it is on my Facebook at least.
