How can I appear online permanently on facebook even if I am away behind my PC?
Whenever I log in to facebook, I see some of my friends appear online permanently(24/7) but when I tried to chat with them, I see a pop-up message on top of the chat window saying "Your messages will be sent to Blah blah's phone. Please is that done?

It would be a facebook app on their smart phones, most likely operating in the background on their phones. (i.e. they just close/minimized the app but didn't stop its process.)

You can stay on Facebook all the time by the same way or just leaving your computer on with facebook open
