Is Cyber Bullying Is Overexposed?
Now of course when things like this happen over myspace, twitter, facebook it's unfortunate because these ppl know you in real life. But when you're on youtube or some anonymous site, just block ppl or don't get back on :/. I think ppl who say they get cyber-bullied on sites that aren't connected to ppl they know in real life just have victim syndrome and have the need to be victimized.

What do you think?

Some people are just fishing for attention and sympathy, but sometimes the bullying is legit. For instance, hackers will sometimes get the victim's personal information, and bother them at home with threats and pranks. Or they will completely hijack the account and ruin the victim's relationships with others, or post false information about the victim.

If someone just doesn't like you, that's not real bullying. If you're told off, it's not bullying. But if it actually affects your off-site life, or violates your privacy, then it's bullying.

can understand the point are making, but it isnt as simple as that.
alot of people on the internet are lacking in awareness or are novices to the anonymous and dark side that bullies take advantage of,many do not have the skills and mental strength to deal with such irritants.

genuine cyber bullying is long term abuse [usually pyschologically],it does affect peoples mental health the more it goes on and can trigger or make worse things like paranoia, pyschosis, depression etc,and has been a trigger for suicide in some people.
the real cyber bullying isnt something that shoud be taken less seriously,as it is just as bad,if not worse than if were being beaten up physically by a bully in own view-as its fully anonymous.
some e-bullies are mentally ill themselves and deliberately target people seen as vulnerable and weak,
have personally been changed completely in the way that use and see the internet thanks to one such bully and attention seeker who has borderline PD,it had affected own MH greatly at the time.

there shoud be more awareness about personal safety on internet use/foruming,just as we have with personal safety in our offline community,so many people dont have a clue how to seperate the online pests from the real bullies, and people who are innocent but have difficulty censoring their views can be classed under the same thing.
we also need to take some responsibility for ourselves to and learn to detach self from abuse that has been posted,in most cases am guessing the same abusers woudnt dare to do the same thing offline its only because they are anonymous, dont get to see the consequences and see it as victimless.
