How to keep in touch with a girl on facebook?

I just met a girl last week and I've added her as my friend on Facebook. I'm really really really in love with that girl and would like to keep in touch with her via FB by sending her messages. However I have no idea what to say to her, could someone please help me. I really want to be good friend with her before asking her out.

I've become closer with some people via facebook. Helps to try and arrange events in person on that site, preferably with mutual friends. Worked for me!

I find it awkward whenever I meet up with someone I talk with on facebook more than in person. If you talk on facebook, try and say hi in person as soon as possible. If you go to school with her, run up to her and say hi. Be cool!
Oh and don't comment her pictures sayng she's pretty/cute/beautiful,etc. That's an obvious sign you like her. My brother does that and he thinks he's Nicholas Sparks.
