Are people on Facebook alerted if you block them?

I have a few people I want to block on Facebook but if it's going to alert them then I don't want to do it. So does Facebook alert people if you block them? It sounds stupid if they do but I have heard people say they have got notified of it before.

No, I've been blocked and i've blocked people to them it just looks like you deleted your facebook. The only way I found out is I was on my sisters and saw that person. If you unfriend them they may realize but not if you block them, they can't even see your comments on other peoples pages or anything to do with you..

They dont get notified but they get removed as friends and they cant search your name i have bloxked many people lol but i found that a easier way is to go to pribavy settings and look around for the ones that give an option to view to everyon , friends and stuff then it should say customize just put the persons name in and they will be ur friend but cannot read ur posts and basic info and pics and stuff u pick

I don't think they can see. And if they do it doesn't matter. Maybe they will get the point and stay away. Lol.

No they don't get any notified or something alert well if you block them then you aren't friends with that person any more.

no they'r not ...but they'll not be able to search for you on facebook and u will no longer in his friend list and he/she wil not in urss...
