How can I convince my mine to let me wear makeup?
I am a pretty responsible girl and I get good grades. I am not allowed to have Facebook but I have a twitter and and an instagram. I think that since I am going into eight grade that it is the right time since I am going back to school and everything. I have an odd situation. My mom doesn't want me wearing makeup but my dad says I can because its what the kids are wearing and stuff. I want to ask my parents in an easy way. I know that they will say that I am beautiful the way I am and that I am perfect. What can I say to them when they say that.. I think they will also say that I want to because all my friends do. I need a good way to convince my mom but need to tell her so that she can't just say no to me right off the bat.. It would help if another girl with the same problem answered me Smile

I'm going into 8th grade as well and I was allowed to wear mascara and pressed powder since the start of 7th grade. My mom never wears makeup so it was kind of hard to convince her, but one day I just sat down with her and explained that I wanted to look and feel a little more responsible. This summer my grandmom gave me bronzer to wear and sometimes I'll wear a tiny bit of eyeliner and my mom never says anything.

Just make sure that you tell them that you're not trying to look older or prettier, you just want to be a little more polished and neater.

Suggest that your mom and you look at makeup in the store together to see what she's okay and not okay with you wearing. Also suggest that your mom check your makeup in the morning before you go to school/out in public to make sure it's not sloppy or too much. (After a few days, she'll realize that you know how to apply makeup and stop checking.)

Hope I helped, and good luck.

There is no set age for wearing makeup, as long as you know how to use it. If you are mature enough to be reasonable and know how much and what type of makeup is appropriate for your age, then you should be fine. For example, a young girl of 13 can look great with a bit of lip gloss, but she would look dreadful if she showed up at school wearing eye shadow and mascara. It will only be flattering if it is age appropriate, and you wear the right look for the right place.

one good thing to do is ask your mom to teach you how to put it on/wear it, even if you already know how to, so that she knows your ready when she lets you wear it. and tell them that having just a little bit of makeup will help you feel a little bit better about yourself. dont talk about your friends all doing it because it will just make them think you are ONLY doing it because of your friends and not any other reason that you give them. also do not ever, ever, EVER wear too much or more than they let you. when you buy makeup only buy a few things: mascara is good because it is hard to have too much of it, and a brown eyeliner instead of black because it is a bit less intense/dramatic and more natural, and a lip gloss that isnt a dark color(light pink or clear is best). start off without foundation or bronzer because it is easy to go overboard on those. if you start with the mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss then it will convince your mom that you arent going to go overboard with makeup which is what most moms who dont want their daughters to wear makeup are afraid of.

Be like "Mommy I wuv you so much can you buy me makeup and teach me how to use it so we can spend more time together?" Well they're probably going to say you want to wear makeup because your friends do... because it's true. Why do you want to wear makeup? Because your friends do. Just say you want to experiment. Makeup isnt just about making yourself look pretty and covering your face. I think a lot of the time people who wear makeup find all the flaws on their face to cover, when really they should be finding all the good things about themselves, and enhancing them. A lot of people feel stripped when they aren't wearing makeup, and that's because they don't think they're beautiful without it. You have to think you're beautiful before you use it too or else you will feel the same way when you go out without makeup.
