What would be the best way to search for a person?
I'm trying to search for a family friend my father lose contact with 12 years ago. I'm willing to pay for a service, but I'd like to search myself before hand. We only know her maiden name, and the fact that she did marry and then divorced. The business she worked at with my father closed down years ago, so I can't call them. Any ideas?

I would first try googling her name (even though it's just her maiden name) and see what results appear. You could also google her name plus her last known location (city, state).

Another suggestion would be to use http://www.zabasearch.com. If she is still using her maiden name, you might be able to get her address and phone number. It also helps if you know approximately how old she is because many times the results will show a birthdate.

Then another search option is to use http://www.peoplefinder.com. I have only used the free portion. The information is not always complete or accurate but in many instances you can acquire additional information including other relatives and sometimes work associates. If you type in her maiden name and then the state where she resided with that name it might give you additional names she has used and places she has lived or currently lived.

MySpace and FaceBook are additional options.

One more idea is to go to http://www.flickr.com. Most of the photos are tagged and if you put her name in the search box you just might find some photos of her.

Hope this helps.

Chris
